About This Place

Nestled in the heart of Midland, TX, Martinez Bakery is a beloved local gem that masterfully melds the rich flavors of traditional Mexican cuisine with the comforting allure of a bustling bakery. Known for its vibrant and authentic menu, Martinez Bakery offers a remarkable array of choices that beckon food lovers from near and far.

Step inside, and you’ll be greeted by the intoxicating aroma of freshly baked Mexican sweet breads—the soft, airy conchas and pan dulce are nothing short of irresistible, warm and fresh out of the oven. Their pastries boast an alluring sweetness that perfectly balances the savory delights also on offer.

Martinez Bakery shines brightest with its extensive selection of Mexican-style sandwiches and tacos. Popular offerings like the Brisket Torta, Torta De Lengua, and the ever-crave-worthy Carnitas Tacos showcase a depth of flavor that’s both satisfying and soulful. Imagine biting into a brisket torta with tender, slow-cooked meat layered with fresh toppings, each mouthful delivering a symphony of textures—from the crusty bread to the juicy filling that lingers with every chew.

For those starting their day early or seeking a hearty breakfast, the bakery’s line-up of burritos—such as the Bacon and Egg Burrito or the savory Chorizo & Potato—are perfectly seasoned and generously stuffed. Coupled with their famed green salsa, as cherished by breakfast regulars like Liz Dominguez, these dishes offer a comforting, robust start to the morning. Be mindful, though: if you're in a hurry, the passionate preparation might require a 10-15 minute wait, but believe me, the patient eater is well rewarded.

Lunch visitors like Traveling Cosmos and Tacos can attest to the freshness and heartiness of the tortas—especially the chicken and carne asada varieties—each overflowing with flavorful meats and fresh ingredients. The vibrant ambiance combines the warmth of a traditional bakery with the lively buzz of a neighborhood eatery, making it the perfect spot for a casual, yet memorable meal.

Beyond the staples, Martinez Bakery delights with diverse taco options including crispy and soft varieties of Carne Asada, Barbacoa, and Lengua, each customizable with extra cheese or your choice of red or green hot sauce for that perfect fiery touch. Their menu also features comforting sides like golden French fries and classic fountain drinks to round out your experience.

What truly sets Martinez Bakery apart is not just the quality and authenticity of its food, but the heartfelt care poured into every dish—whether it’s a sweet, freshly baked bread or a savory, flavor-packed burrito. Visit for the food, stay for the genuine hospitality, and leave with a satisfied palate eager to return.

This place had good food, usually I come to this place to order burritos for breakfast and I love their green salsa they put on the orders. The only thing I have to complain is the time they take to have your order ready. I usually go here when I'm heading out of the city and I'm in a hurry. Just to take in consideration if you are in a hurry know it will take about 10 to 15 minutes of wait. Also the customer service is not great.

I’m visiting the area this week from New York and a friend brought me here for lunch. The super tortas was so fresh very tasty. I had one chicken and one Carne Asada. I ate half of each to taste them both I did not know one was gonna be so filling. This bakery have a nice wide variety of Mexican breads and pastries. I got there today around 12:30 in the afternoon. It was very busy and they were constantly coming out with more pastries to replenish the shelves that they had just baked! There’s seating inside and outside.

We stopped by here yesterday for some fresh made sweet breads, and we decided to have lunch. We had crispy tacos today with ice cold drinks, and we were pleased. Very happy .

Their food is great, my favorite is the ground beef crunchy tacos and menudo. Every time I’m in town that’s my first stop.
